WordPress: The first thing you MUST know
Mar 24th, 2008 | By webmaster | Category: Featured articlesIt’s baffling. Most hosting services will install WordPress for you.
Then, they don’t tell you how to log into your new WordPress blog. Beginners don’t know what to do next.
Here’s what you need to know.
Your login page is http://www.yourdomainname.com/yourWordPressfolder/wp-admin
Of course, replace “yourdomainname.com” with your actual domain name.
Your WordPress folder is probably /wordpress/ or /wp/ unless you asked for a different folder name.
All you need to remember is your username.
If you forgot your password, use the link at the bottom of your /wp-admin page. Enter your username and email address, and you’ll receive your password by email.
If you forgot your username or the email you signed up with, the solution is simple. Have your server uninstall WordPress, and then reinstall it. (This time, write down your registration information!)
Don’t feel embarrassed if you have to do that. It’s happened to me more than once.
