The new book is ready!

The new edition of Sites that Soar! is ready. The price is $17 and you can order it at http://www.SitesThatSoar.com/
The book is 150 pages and full of step-by-step screenshots. I’ve added many new chapters covering topics such as widgets, automatically installing WordPress, how to use the Edit Themes screen, and more. The screenshots are all from WordPress 2.7.
In addition, I’m working on different versions of the Branford Magazine theme. As an Open Source project, it will be free.
(Now that I see how complete the new book is with screenshots, I’ve abandoned the videos idea. The screenshots say it all, already.)
This new edition of my book is a very complete guide to installing, customizing and using the Branford Magazine theme. I’m proud of this new edition of Sites that Soar, and I think you’ll really like it.
Order it at: http://www.SitesThatSoar.com/

Hi Ais,
Any news on your new versions of the theme?
Cheers
James
The first one is ready, but since I don’t actually write code, it’s permanently in “beta” version.
That said, I’m using this at several of my own sites, and — so far — it’s working fine.

Hi Aisling -
I love your book and have used it for several of my sites. I went to use your book to help me set up another site and while there I decided to pop over here for a visit and noticed you have an updated version Sites. Did I get an update? Maybe it got caught in my spam. Could you resend and I’ll look for it in my spam file?
Thanks !!!
Cheryl
Cheryl, This book is not a “free updates” product. I don’t simply tweak a few pages and call it an “update.” I rewrite the entire book, and — I hope — add enough extra value to make this a worthwhile purchase for everyone.
The original book was about 50 pages. The next edition was somewhat larger, and sent to all first edition customers because it was only slightly larger. However, that was a freebie that I sent on impulse. I’m sorry that some people thought I’d keep doing that, indefinitely.
The current edition of Sites that Soar! includes more than 150 pages, and bonuses that are worth more than double the cover price.
And, subscribers to my Sites that Soar mailing list received a large discount on the new edition, when it was announced on that list. I posted about the upcoming discount, in an article that headlined here, in case anyone hadn’t subscribed yet.
If you didn’t subscribe, I’m sorry that you missed it.
But, once you figure out WordPress and Branford Magazine, creating new Branford sites is fairly intuitive. Even with WordPress and theme changes, current Branford users can probably figure out what to change at new websites.
WordPress provides very good, free info about their updates. I talk about Branford changes, free, here at the Sites that Soar website. So, there’s no reason why you’d have to purchase the newest edition of my book.
But, for people who want the extra information I’ve added — or just the bonus products — the $17 should be a worthwhile expense.
I’m not sure that I’ll update this book in the future but — in case I do — it’s still smart to subscribe to my newsletter. (I send it very, very infrequently. In the past, I’ve sent it less than once a month.)
