Just wanted to add my 2cents~ I LOVE e-junkie as well. I spent a long time looking for an easy ecommerce shopping cart that would accept PayPal and offer inventory control, and that WASN'T template-based, because I wanted to design my own site. E-junkie works amazingly for me. It's so easy to use.

From my experiences, E-Junkie is secure. You can limit the number of downloads allowed. The download page is definitely hidden from view, as E-Junkie hosts the file, and they're not eager to give up bandwidth to pirates!

Do you know whether e-junkie or any of the similar websites have any kind of security features? What is to keep someone from giving out your ebook for free? And is there any way to protect the download page? I've heard tech-savvy people can find a way around they purchase page and find your download button without paying, unless it is "hidden." What about printing--can you stop people from printing your book and scanning and selling/giving it away? I don't want to work hard on my ebook and have it pirated.

Thanks!

Cool! Thanks for the review. I need a way to sell $7 reports, so I can't afford anything expensive LOL! E-Junkie seems like it'll be super easy and just what I need. I'm clicking your affiliate link and signing up right now!! :D

I ONLY Sell 4-10 items and I have been desperately looking for a shopping cart to do ONE THING and that is inventory control (since i have so few of each item). I must have looked at 10 (ridiculously overpriced) shopping cart services before I got interested in E-Junkie. All the reviews seem pretty positive so I think I will go ahead and try them out.

Thanks, EcommerceOwner! At this point in my business, I love E-Junkie. I'm not paying for services that I don't need.

However, I'm grateful for your advice. Long before I reach the level where invoicing is an issue, I'll look at other solutions.

For now, my non-digital products are handled by others (Cafe Press, Lulu, Create Space, etc.), so that side isn't a concern... but I know that I'm giving up income to use those services.

My digital sales are still manageable through E-Junkie. At my level, their Customer Service has been prompt and they talked me through a few things that I didn't understand.

And, charging just $5 or $10 a month -- total -- for low-level file storage and affiliate management like mine... well, that's exactly what I need to keep my prices as low as they are.

Thanks to your advice, I'll begin exploring alternatives now, so I'm ready as my business grows.

I'm very grateful that you took the time to post this comment. Thanks again!

Honestly, E-Junkie itself is top-notch --- I loved how easy it was to use and integrate, there's really no experience required.

HOWEVER...

If your business turns into a profitable venture and/or you have non-digital sales over $500 a month, this is NOT for you. Take my word. There's no invoicing method available, so you have to manually create invoices which is so annoying, clients cannot see where their orders are because there is NO "track my order" function -- so you have to manually send out tacking numbers... it's a NIGHTMARE.

And I quite honestly asked E-Junkie 5 different times to please help me customize, but every time they shrugged me off and said, "well, go somewhere else then, this isn't for you." I even contacted the founder/lead developer and he was actually *ANGRY* with me and treated me SO poorly I immediately decided to get out of E-Junkie as soon as possible.

BOTTOM LINE: Good if you don't have many goods/temporarily selling things - *awful* customer support and you shouldn't use it if you are a SERIOUS ecommerce professional, it's horrific.

Thanks for your insights! I'm still very pleased with E-Junkie and use them as I add new, related books to this site.

I've used e-junkie for six months to sell both a digital download (eBook) and tangible goods (trophies). I've stayed with them because of ease of use, excellence in delivering downloadable products, and low price. There are some cons, though, especially around the area of thank you emails. Read my full e-junkie shopping cart software review
