Yes, a new Sites that Soar!
Jan 12th, 2009 | By Ais | Category: Book newsI am rewriting my popular ebook, ‘Sites that Soar‘, to reflect recent changes in WordPress.
I’m also working on my own version of the Branford Magazine theme, which will include the tweaks and improvements that I’ve recommended to my readers in past editions of my book.
If you’re using any previous version of Sites that Soar, you can probably figure out the changes in WordPress, especially if you’re using an older version of Branford Magazine.
If you’re having trouble with the (newer) Branford Magazine theme 2.6, here’s a link to my current recommendations: The 2.6 Branford Magazine theme.
I’ve also posted the older version of Branford Magazine… the one that I’m using again, after I tried (and quickly deleted) the 2.6 version.
In addition, Michael Oeser — who released the original Branford Magazine — has posted a free, illustrated tutorial, online. He’s also reopened his forum, where he helps people, also for free.
I love the new dashboard for WordPress 2.7. For me, it runs faster and it’s easier to use.
I’m working on my own version of Branford Magazine. (It drew heavily from the Mimbo theme and the original Revolution themes, so I have many code options to consider.)
I’ll also re-release my Sites that Soar! ebook to explain how to use it with WordPress 2.7. (I will include some tips for Mr. Oeser’s 2.6 version of Branford Magazine.)
For now, I’m referring all questions to Mr. Oeser at his DER-PRiNZ.com website.
I’m sure he’ll explain how to fix your homepage images, and how to change your database as necessary to provide the correct URLs to fit his new Branford Magazine design.
My own, free version of Branford Magazine, as well as my new Sites that Soar ebook — with videos — should be ready around the end of January.
